Claude and MCPPro

Connect FluxTime to Claude through MCP, so Claude can answer questions about your goals, tasks, schedule and journal, and, if you let it, make changes for you.

FluxTime has an MCP server, so you can use your FluxTime data inside Claude. Connect it once, then ask Claude things like "Where did my time go this week?" or "What's on my schedule tomorrow?". Claude looks up your goals, tasks, schedule and journal to answer. If you let it, Claude can also make changes for you, such as adding a task, moving an event or logging time. Changes are off until you turn them on.

Flux Pro. Connecting an AI assistant is part of Flux Pro, and it reads your data from cloud sync, so turn cloud sync on in the FluxTime app first. See Free and Pro.

MCP (Model Context Protocol) is an open standard that lets AI assistants connect to other apps. The FluxTime server address is:

https://mcp.fluxtime.io/mcp

Connect Claude

On claude.ai or in the Claude desktop app:

  1. Open Settings → Connectors.
  2. Choose Add custom connector. Name it FluxTime and paste the address above.
  3. Choose Connect. Your browser opens the FluxTime web app.
  4. Sign in with your FluxTime account, the one you use on iPhone or Mac. If you signed up with Apple, choose Continue with Apple.
  5. Check what Claude will be able to read. To let it make changes too, turn on Also let it make changes. Then choose Allow.

You go back to Claude, and FluxTime shows up in its list of connectors. A connector added on the web or desktop also works in the Claude app on your phone.

Connect Claude Code

In a terminal, run:

claude mcp add --transport http fluxtime https://mcp.fluxtime.io/mcp

Then type /mcp in Claude Code and choose fluxtime to sign in. The browser opens the same page as above; choose Allow and go back to the terminal.

Which apps can connect

FluxTime connects to Claude (on the web, desktop and phone) and to apps running on your own computer, such as Claude Code. If another app asks to connect, the FluxTime page says it can't, and nothing is shared.

What you can ask

Claude decides what to look up from your question. Some things to try:

  • "Where did my time go this week, by category?"
  • "Am I on pace with my goals? Which one is falling behind?"
  • "What's on my schedule for the next three days?"
  • "Which tasks are overdue?"
  • "How many hours did I spend on deep work each week this month?"
  • "Find everything I logged about the website redesign."

With changes on, you can also ask:

  • "Add a task to the website project: send the draft to Sam, tomorrow at 10."
  • "Move my 3 pm meeting to Thursday, same time."
  • "Log 9:00 to 10:30 this morning as writing."
  • "Mark everything I finished today as done."

What Claude can read

Data What Claude sees
Goals and projects Names, dates, recorded and estimated hours, and progress against the schedule
Tasks and events By date, status (open, completed, overdue, unscheduled), project and goal
Schedule Each day's tasks, events, reminders, time blocks and hours recorded
Reminders By status and due date
Journal entries Each entry with its time, length, category and task, and totals for any period
Categories Your category tree with energy levels

Times are in your local time and lengths are in hours. Journal time is counted the same way as in the app: each entry runs until the next one.

Let Claude make changes

A connection only reads until you let it make changes. You choose this for each app: turn on Also let it make changes when you connect, or later open the web app, go to Settings → General → Account, and turn on Changes next to the app under Connected Apps. Apps you connected before changes were available stay read-only until you turn this on.

With changes on, you can ask Claude to:

  • Create and change tasks, events, reminders, goals and projects, and mark them done or not done.
  • Log time in your journal, and change journal entries.
  • Delete items, and restore them.

Claude can't change your categories or workflows.

Some limits keep changes safe:

  • Deleting asks you first. Claude lists what it's about to delete and waits for you to confirm in the conversation. A deletion can be undone: ask Claude to restore it.
  • Some items can only be deleted in FluxTime. Tasks with recorded journal time, tasks with a category of their own or from a workflow, projects that still have tasks, and goals that still have projects.
  • Nothing is overwritten by mistake. Each change checks that the item hasn't changed since Claude read it. If it has, nothing is changed and Claude gets the latest version to check again.
  • Limits. At most 20 items in one request, and 200 changes per account per day.
  • Every change is recorded with the app that made it.

Changes go into your synced data and show up in the FluxTime app after it syncs. Claude also reads from cloud sync, so changes you make in the app show up in Claude within about half a minute after they sync.

Claude changes only what you ask for. You can also ask Flux AI in FluxTime, which drafts changes for you to approve.

Time zone

Claude gets your times in the time zone of the browser where you chose Allow. The page shows it before you allow. If you move to another time zone, remove the connection and connect again from a browser set to the new zone.

Remove access

To disconnect, open the web app, go to Settings → General → Account, and choose Remove next to the app under Connected Apps. To connect it again, start from Claude as before.

To keep the connection but stop changes, turn off Changes next to the app. It can still read.

Removing FluxTime from Claude's connectors also stops Claude from using it.

Your data

When Claude uses FluxTime, the data it reads is sent to Claude to answer your question, and Anthropic handles it under Claude's own privacy terms. Flux AI is not involved, and the connection does not count toward Flux AI's daily limit. Details are in the Privacy Policy.

Troubleshooting

  • Claude says the account needs Flux Pro. Subscribe in the FluxTime app in Settings → General → Account, then ask again.
  • Claude finds no data, or old data. Make sure cloud sync is on in the app and has synced: Settings → Data → Cloud Sync → Sync Now.
  • The page says the request can't be used. It expired or was already answered. Start connecting again from Claude.
  • Claude says it can't make changes. Turn on Changes for the app in the web app (see Let Claude make changes). If you just turned it on, reconnect: in Claude Code, type /mcp and reconnect fluxtime; in Claude, disconnect and reconnect FluxTime in Settings → Connectors.
  • Claude can't delete an item. It may be one that can only be deleted in FluxTime, such as a task with recorded time or a project that still has tasks. Delete it in the app.
  • Times are off by some hours. The connection uses the time zone of the browser you allowed it in. See Time zone.
